We are announcing the recruitment of boys' voices

German-Polish choral concert

At the invitation of the Poznań Boys ‘Choir, the Hymnus Boys’ Choir from Stuttgart will come to our city to perform with our ensemble on June 8, 2022. The concert will feature choral works by composers of early, classical and contemporary music (including Bach, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Bruckner, Britten, Sykulski, Miskinis). The event is part of the concert tour of the Stuttgart choir, which includes central Germany, Berlin, Poznań, Warsaw and Dresden.

The German choir prepared a surprise for our audience – a Polish premiere of the piece “Magnificat”, written by Johannes Kretz for choir and electronics.

The Stuttgart Hymnus is the oldest boys’ choir in southwestern Germany. The essence of the choir and its most important function is to spread sacred music in churches and concert halls and to provide a musical setting for numerous services and concerts. Hymnus ¬ was founded in 1900 on the initiative of entrepreneur Paul von Lechler. The choir is financially supported by the Evangelical Church of Stuttgart, the city of Stuttgart and the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. As a church cultural institution it shapes the musical life of Stuttgart in a special way and is one of the artistically highly valued ensembles of its kind. The choir can be heard at approximately 50 concerts and church services annually. His repertoire is based on sacred vocal music and includes a cappella pieces from early baroque to contemporary music, as well as oratorios, passions and cantatas. The choir reguralry cooperates with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Early Music Orchestra of Handel’s Company. Other permanent instrumental partners are the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, the Ensemble Musica Fiat and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
