On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Poznań Boys’ Choir, as a Municipal Cultural Institution, and the 20th anniversary of Jacek Sykulski’s collaboration with the ensemble, the Poznań Boys’ Choir will give two concerts in the Poznań County. During their performances, the ensemble will present a repertoire divided into three segments:
“Pearls of Polish Sacred Music”
“Music in the Ghetto”
“Poznań Boys’ Choir Encore”
The Poznań Boys’ Choir will start their presentation with several works by the most outstanding domestic composers, from the Renaissance to contemporary times. The second element of the repertoire is an artistic tribute in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. The third and final segment of the Poznań Boys’ Choir’s jubilee presentation will consist of somewhat lighter genre compositions, which appear during each concert in its final phase or are presented as an encore. These are various arrangements of classical and popular music hits, with the main goal of leaving the audience in the best possible mood.
In the first place, under the direction of Jacek Sykulski, the choristers will perform in Luboń, where on October 8, 2023, at 1:30 PM, they will appear at the Church of St. Barbara. Then, on October 27, 2023, they will arrive at the Culture and Recreation Center in Koziegłowy. The concert there will take place at 7:00 PM.
The realization of the concerts is possible thanks to the financial support of the Poznań County and cooperation with the Artis Choralis Association.
