We are announcing the recruitment of boys' voices


4th International Early Music Vocal Competition “Canticum Gaudium”

International Early Music Vocal Competition “Canticum Gaudium” is the cultural initiative of Poznan Boys’ Choir addressed to singers worldwide, specializing in singing the pieces of Renaissance and Baroque composers. From 13 to 15 November Poznan will be city reverberating with the sounds of the musical pieces composed among others by John Dowland, Claudio Monteverdi, John Sebastian Bach, or Georg Friedrich Händel. Vocal performances of the competitors will be evaluated by the International jury composed of the renowned experts of the early music: Martin Gester (France), Paul Esswood (Great Britain), Andrzej Kosendiak (Poland), Virgil Hartinger (Austria) and Jacek Sykulski (Poland). All the auditions for the participation in the competition will be held in the rooms of the S. Stuligrosz Aula in the Academy of Music in Poznan.

In particular, we would like to invite you to take part in the Gala Concert (15th October 2017, 7:00 pm, Aula Nova in Poznan), that will be the final event of the competition, where you will be able to listen to the performances of the best participants of the competition as well as to the concert of motets, written by the composers of Bach’s family: Johann Bach, Johann Christoph Bach, Johann Michael Bach, Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by Poznań Boys’ Choir and Girls’ Choir of Jerzy Kurczewski Poznań Choir School.

We do hope that during the competition you will be thrilled with the charm of music of 17th and 18th century and we also do hope that you will stimulate young singers from the UK, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Singapore, Venezuela and Poland to better and better performance on stage.
